Product Care

We celebrate the soulfulness of artisanal craftsmanship and the idiosyncratic beauty of handmade imperfections. In harmony with essential quality control standards, a bump here or an extra wash of glaze there are signatures that let us revel in the human craft. With a story behind each piece, no two Juliska products are identical—thus uniqueness is guaranteed and treasured.
Care— Not suitable for hot contents, freezer or microwave use. Most pieces are residential dishwasher-safe on the top shelf, set to a warm, gentle cycle with a mild detergent. Hand wash large, highly decorated or hand painted pieces.

Stoneware Ceramics

Our Portuguese stoneware ceramics echo the same artisanal production as Juliska glassware. We have developed a variety of exquisite transparent, opaque, and metallic glazes on a tough Portuguese stoneware body. All are lead free and each has the same tough durability to handle the most demanding everyday use.
Care—
Dishwasher (avoid high heat), freezer, microwave and oven safe (up to 500 degrees). We recommend hand washing pieces that contain a non-ceramic component, such as metal, gold or platinum; please note these items are not microwave safe. Avoid cleaners that may contain citrus. While not common, over time, metal trail markings may occur on the stoneware surface dependent on your flatware. These marks are not scratches, and not due to a manufacturing defect in our ceramics, but steel residue on top of the glaze left by stainless steel flatware. Using a combination of citrus cleansers and high heat in your dishwasher can lead to more prominent metal markings.
Flatware
Juliska’s flatware is made of the highest quality 18/10 stainless steel. Our flatware is dishwasher safe unless otherwise noted. To care for your stainless-steel flatware, use a mild, non-abrasive cleanser that does not contain citrus, chlorine, alcohol or perfume. To keep your stainless steel looking its best, avoid prolonged contact with tea, coffee, vinegar and salt which can stain, pit and erode your silverware. When dishwashing your flatware, we recommend loading forks and spoons with their handles down, tines and bowls up. Knives should be placed in a separate basket with sharp ends down to prevent unwanted contact with other flatware. Hot air drying increases the chances of discoloration and corrosion. Dry flatware immediately after washing with a soft towel.
Care—
• Stainless Steel & Stainless Steel with Gold Accents— Dishwasher safe. Avoid cleaners that contain citrus.
• All Gold Flatware— Hand wash only. Do not use any citrus cleaners, as these are corrosive to gold.
• Natural Bamboo— Due to the use of natural bamboo wood, allow for variations in color, texture and size of the handles. To prolong the natural beauty of this collection, we recommend handwashing.
• Enameled Stainless Steel— Hand wash only. Do not use any citrus cleaners, as these are corrosive to gold.
