How Do You Holiday?

Let’s Get Festive!!

We believe that what is on a table has a curious effect on what happens around it. So, let's overdo it a little — they will enjoy it a lot! When it comes to holiday hosting, we passionately believe that there is only one entertaining rule that really matters: don’t just set the table, set the scene! This means layering in lots of accents around your table to create a feast for the eyes, with beautiful patterns, fresh florals, candlelight, and accessories like place cards and props, etc. Get inspired with four of our favorite festive collections that are ready to party, feast and get cozy, in equal measure.

Stewart Tartan place setting

Set the Scene: ‘Dapper Holiday’ with Stewart Tartan

Classic tartan instantly evokes the spirit of the season and can easily run the gamut from formal black-tie affairs to casual fireside suppers by the tree. Dress up table settings with gleaming flatware and tartan trimmings like matching linens and festive napkins rings for a dapper effect that begs to be paired with a scotch on the rocks or a proper martini before dinner. For more casual settings, layer in other patterns — our Stewart Tartan (based on Capucine’s ancestral clan’s plaid) features a jolly spectrum of festive hues that makes mixing and matching, effortless. When using a bold pattern, we like to keep our tablecloths a solid color to create visual balance.

Winter Frolic Place Setting

Set the Scene: ‘Classic Beauty’ with Country Estate Winter Frolic

Dreaming of a White Christmas? A palette of snowy white and ruby red is crisp, elegant and festive. Featuring scenes of our English Country Estate with merry winter pursuits in full-swing, this versatile pattern is the perfect backdrop for all your celebrations, day-to-night, from Christmas Eve feast to Christmas morning brunch. We love mixing it with our Stewart Tartan, but it also looks lovely layered with solid green, red, or gold for a more formal occasion.

For hosting a holiday buffet, we keep plenty of pretty platters and serveware on hand to showcase culinary triumphs, and love having a huge statement bouquet as a centerpiece! Our Harriet Fan Vase is the perfect pick for displaying a grand bouquet, with its narrow silhouette that fits on the buffet table with copious width to accommodate a profusion of blooms. Our arrangement is a mixture of ruby garden roses, red anemones and sprigs of wild rosemary for extra texture and wonderful fragrance. Alpine Noel Table Setting

Set the Scene: ‘Alpine Noël’ with North Pole

Cozy chalet style inspired by the French Alps beckons loved ones to gather at the table and hearth with its relaxed and rustic feel. Storybook scenes from the North Pole and Santa’s snowy village evoke the magic of the season, making this wintry mix perfect for family suppers, après-ski afternoons and baking day moments to treasure. Create the feeling of the French Alps in your setting with layers of hand-embroidered linens, natural accents and rich textures. Our new Blenheim Oak wood grain motif is a perfect layering pattern to combine with our charming North Pole collection. The holiday florals are in organic wintry colors with natural greenery, pinecones, feathers, and mountain-inspired elements mixed with soft, buttery florals.

Citrus Christmas Table Setting

Set the Scene: ‘Citrus Christmas’ with Jardins du Monde

Dress up your everyday white dinnerware with metallic accents to create a show-stopping, luminous and bright tableau that is a fresh take on dressing a holiday table. Our crisp, white Jardins du Monde dinnerware strikes a subtly opulent note, accented with sparkling Bohemian stemware, gold accented flatware and a gleaming forest of Berry & Thread glass stacking trees.

Our table theme centers around the bright colors of citrus fruits, with table linens in happy hues and a centerpiece featuring an abundant bowl of lemons, grapefruits, kumquats, persimmons and a sprinkling of holiday greens and a few yellow flowers. When mixing these citrus colors with gold placemats and accents, the overall effect is wonderfully rich and golden. Scatter a few small-sized citrus fruits from the arrangement outwards toward the sides of the table and interspersed with the glass trees and greenery. When your centerpiece arrangement effectively spans the length of your table, the overall visual impact is glorious! This only works, however, if you don't need the space for serving pieces and are entertaining buffet style. The Jardins de Monde collection also has lots of wonderful serving pieces that mix and match beautifully with the Berry and Thread collection to create a whimsical buffet. Pair with sparkling cocktails and you'll have a sparkling affair!
