Summer to Fall Styling
Beauty Lies In-Between
In love with summer but ready to fall? We’re delightfully dancing between both seasons in a celebration of laid-back summer style with the tones and textures of autumn to strike the perfect balance for this beautiful, “in-between” time of year.
While we’re not actually traipsing through Napa or Burgundy (though we like to imagine we are...wine tasting, anyone?) we cannot help but take inspiration from the world’s vineyards during their most spectacularly gorgeous time of year. As the last days of summer shine brightly upon us, its golden alchemy is also at work upon Mother Nature’s jewels of the season -- ripening grapes into their deepest purples, reds and greens. We’re styling our tablescapes accordingly, with lush motifs and verdant varietals of tableware to blend, mix and match.
This is the moment to play with patterns! Instantly enrich an aesthetic with decorative motifs. Tortoiseshell delivers eye-catching decadence without feeling too serious, just as mosaic-like vases dial up the drama just enough to showcase arrangements while remaining fun and bright. Even the slightest addition of ripples can cause an effect, imbuing a splash more opulence to glassware yet versatile enough to transition from al fresco brunches to cocktail hour and casual suppers (we love sangria for all three)!
We’re grounding foundational pieces in natural elements for effortless warmth. Gravitate toward bamboo flatware, hand-woven placemats and wooden serving pieces that are rooted in the richness of the earth, without feeling too formal.
Fresh new linens instantly transform any space — we’re replacing our summer stripes and bright colors with romantic patterns, hand-embroidered textures and hues of flaxen and cream.
Whether it’s a long weekend lunch or a supper party, make the most of the seasonal shift by freshening up with a few new pieces (don’t forget an accessory or two for yourself!) and take time to slow down and savor the bounty of family, friends and the last best days of summer.
